Another great fishing trip on the Wild and Scenic South Fork of the Flathead River just south of the Bob Marshal Wilderness at the Diamond R Ranch over the 4th of July weekend! The goal was to get outdoors, find peace and quiet (away from fireworks), meet and converse with fellow vets, and maybe catch a fish or two. All accomplished! We had a nice stay at the Diamond R Guest Ranch. Lisa Lee and all her wonderful help greeted us and made us feel at home. Their food and hospitality was just what we needed. Saturday and Sunday’s fishing on the South Fork of the Flathead brought incredible views and a few fish to the boat. We had some great evening time to visit and share stories too.
We started off Friday evening with a great meal prepared by the Diamond R. then went down to the river for some casting lessons, prepping the boats, and a meet and greet. We had a great group of veterans (Nathan and Adam Strash, Paul Mereness, and Garrett Golembieski). Helpers for this trip were Chad Tucker and Mark Boardman who are also veterans.
Saturday, the 4th of July we started early and had a wonderful warm day and enjoyed the scenery.
Thanks so much to the Diamond R for their hospitality and wonderful meals! Also to Tim & Liz McEntire and Brian and Janina Hobday for all your assistance and helping out!
